Hannah's Nominating Committee Blog:

The nominating Committee has been working on edits to the policy for election of CFNC Commissioners and reviewing and updating the policy for the Slate of candidates for IAFN Board Elections.  As the chair of the Noms Committee (my nickname for the committee), I have been reviewing the current composition of the Board and CFNC for diversity of specialties, which state members are from and whether we have Canadian members on the board - we do.  I am again in awe of the qualifications, breadth of forensic experiences and competence of IAFN's leadership.  We should all be proud to have these colleagues serve IAFN.

I have asked board members to speak to their forensic colleagues whom they believe would be assets to the board or CFNC and serve IAFN well.  Now I ask you, the membership to think about running for a board position, for the remaining CFNC Commissioner, or for the nominating committee.  The Call for Nominations runs from 12:01 am on June 1, 2014 to 11:59 pm, July 18, 2014.  If you believe you are not ready for a leadership position, think about joining a committee or running for the upcoming vacancy on the nominating committee that will be there when I term out.

The most important action you can take is to vote between November 1st through November 30th.  Do not be content with being one of the approximately 90% of professional association members who do not vote!  Join the 10% of the membership who does vote and increase that 10% to 25% this year.

You will hear from me throughout the nominations cycle and I am available to answer questions.

Respectfully submitted,

Hannahm. Pressler, DNP, PNP-BC, AFN-BC also known as just Hannah
Chair, IAFN Nominating Committee
