I am interested to know what SART facilites are also doing Domestic Violence Forensic-Medical Exams. (preferrably in California) Who is the payor source for this? We are looking into incorporating this patient population into our center, but law enforcement is not eager to pay for these exams. Our current SART exams are paid for by law enforcement. Since these patients would be medical ER patients, the idea is to add a "forensic nurse consult fee" onto the medical bill. However, a large portion of our patients do not have insurance, and working for a For-Profit facility, they are not eager to bring on un-insured patients. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
