GW Needs More Sexual Assault Education

I've linked an article here regarding GW's problems (still) with educating their students on issues related to sexual assault.
GW needs more sexual assault education.

This is a University (my alma-mater) in the heart of Washington DC, with professionals who are experts in thousands of areas, and national as well as global resources. Advocacy groups abound in DC, and this University is privy to so many keen minds who can help with this issue.

My point is, if GW struggles with this then many other Universities struggle with this. The age group, 19-24 is most at risk due to a variety of reasons. As Forensic Nurses, we not only have the ability to RESPOND to crimes of sexual assault, but we can EDUCATE and help with PREVENTION. Prevention is key, and it is one area I'd like to see us participate more in.

If you get the opportunity, or make the opportunity, give a talk to your local community colleges or Universities on this topic. Write an article, be available to assist however you can even though it may not "pay" for your business. If you do this, I think we can really make a difference!
