OUR MISSION

To develop, support, and promote forensic nursing by providing networking, educational conferences, and accessible information on forensic events across the state and country. We look to the International Association of Forensic Nurses for the model we will follow and in the standards we will set for ourselves as forensic nurses.

The New Jersey Chapter of the International Association of Forensic Nurses is an organization formed to promote and support the specialty of Forensic Nursing throughout the State of New Jersey.

What is Forensic Nursing

Forensic Nurses specialize in caring for victims and perpetrators of violence. They care for the physical, psychological, and social trauma that occurs in patients who have been assaulted or abused. Forensic nurses also have a specialized knowledge of the legal system and collect evidence, provide medical testimony in court, and provide consultation to legal authorities. To learn more about Forensic Nursing, please visit the IAFN website.
