Post Clinical Requirements for Pediatric Sexual Assault Forensic Nurses

By Bonnie Price posted 04-24-2013 04:05 PM

Good Afternoon,

I am trying to get a feel for what other programs require regarding their post-training clinical requirements for Pediatric Sexual Assault Forensic Nurses. By this I mean, once they have finished their didactic content does your program require a certain number of exams and if so, what type of exams (sexual abuse, prepubertal, post-pubertal, physical abuse, simulated exams, well-child exams, etc.)

Thank you.

Bonnie,
We require 20 acute SANE exams and a day in our non-acute clinic. Our patients consist of birth to 17 years of age for acute and non acute exams.
